About Laivacon – Marine Services & Safety Equipment in Finland
Laivacon Ab Oy is a marine service and equipment company based in Pietarsaari (Jakobstad), Finland. We support commercial vessel operators, shipyards and private boat owners with vessel maintenance, refit, safety equipment servicing, marine 3D services and boat transport.
Our work brings together practical boatbuilding experience, technical services and equipment supply. Whether you are planning a vessel upgrade, arranging a safety inspection or looking for replacement equipment, we help you find a solution suited to your vessel and its operation.
A Family Background in Seafaring and Boatbuilding
Our maritime roots reach back to Nils Enqvist, whose career took him from working at sea to building some of the first sailing yachts at Nautor Swan. His boatbuilding and lamination business, Båtbyggeri Enqvist, continued into the next generation.
That family background remains part of Laivacon’s approach today: understanding how boats are built, how their systems work and what owners need to keep them in service.
Vessel Maintenance, Repairs & Refit
We provide marine maintenance and repair services, from preventive servicing to refurbishment and custom modifications. Our work includes engine maintenance and overhaul, waterjet repairs, electrical system upgrades, spare parts replacement and equipment installation.
For larger refit projects, we support vessel modernisation, system upgrades and interior refurbishment. We also offer field service, emergency repairs, technical consulting and subcontracting for shipyards and marine projects.
Marine Safety Equipment Service & Inspection
Our safety services include liferaft servicing, lifejacket inspections and fire extinguisher inspections. Laivacon is approved by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom for liferaft servicing.
We work with liferaft brands including Lalizas, HERO, Survitec, Duarry, Seago, Seasafe, Plastimo, Ocean Safety and Seacurity. Our services also include custom-made liferaft cradles, the supply and installation of HAMMAR release units, and the installation of safety equipment on board.
We help customers plan servicing and equipment replacement according to the products fitted to their vessels and their operating requirements.
Marine 3D Scanning, CAD Modelling & 3D Printing
Our 3D services support vessel modifications, component development and technical documentation. We provide vessel scanning, CAD modelling, technical drawings and reverse engineering, helping turn existing boats and components into digital information that can be used for further work.
Our capabilities also include prototype development, 3D printing, part replication, digital twins and visualisation. These services help customers assess proposed changes, develop custom components and communicate designs before production or installation.
Boat Transport, Towing & Handling
We provide boat transport by road and sea, including trailer and truck transport, towing and skipper services. Our boat handling services also cover support boat operations, dry docking, launching and testing.
These services can be coordinated with maintenance and refit work, helping customers manage the practical steps involved in moving, servicing and returning a boat to the water.
Marine Safety Equipment & Online Shop
Our webshop offers liferafts, lifejackets, distress signals, emergency beacons, immersion suits, man-overboard equipment, fire safety products and survival supplies.
The range includes products from manufacturers such as IKAROS, Ocean Signal, HERO, Spinlock, Lalizas and Seven Oceans. We also supply accessories, replacement items and equipment packages for different maritime needs.
By combining equipment supply with servicing and installation, we can support customers beyond the initial purchase.
Your Marine Service Partner in Pietarsaari
Our 630 m² facility at Mästasvägen 6 combines dedicated service areas with climate-controlled storage. From this base, our team brings together marine maintenance, electrical work, safety equipment servicing and 3D design.
